WHEN I REACH YOU

Artwork By: Ellen Sin

When I Reach You

I slowly climb the stairway to heaven

Braving the risk of falling from grace

One misstep is all that it takes

To whisk away my empty existence

I’m well aware of the clouds’ deception

They won’t catch me in an embrace

I must keep the heart sealed far away

Or I’d fall for their ghastly illusions

When I reach the last step,

Will I be sore?

When I reach the last door,

Will I feel dread?

When I reach the last light,

Will I lose sight?

When

Everything happened,

My entire world changed

In the span of a second,

One that will soon seal my fate.

When I reach you,

Will I be reached, too?
